Chikondi cha Mayi

is a play that sees its protagonist a young man caught up in a society full of moral decay, greed and hypocrisy ending up in a dilemma of duty to his family and his love.

Director of the drama company, Landson Chingeni told The Nation in an exclusive interview that they are sure that people will love their performance because they have a unique style that will give them an edge over theatre lovers.

“The audience should be sure that we will deliver a mature play because we have taken our time to prepare,” said Chingeni.

Other performances that will spice up the launch of the play are poems by Hudson Chamasowa of Kusimongolia fame, Sylvester Kalizang’oma and Joseph Mazeze.

Chingeni further added that they have encorporated poetry because it is one form of art that needs empowerment and nurturing.

“We are all artists so we need to promote each other,” said Chingeni.
